| Isla de Pascua - Easter Island
|
| The Easter Island is of volcanic origin, a permanent scientific enigma: At their time of glory the history of the lifes of their 15,000 inhabitants was registered in small talking boards, called rongo rongo (practically the only place with scripture in the new world) When the government of Chile, by the end of the last century, took possession of the Island only a little more than a hundred of islanders were left and it still was not possible to interpret the hieroglyphics nor the real history of its ancestors, but everywhere we can see the huge stone monuments as testimony of a great culture. The island remained isolated and solitary by more of a millennium without another human contact except that between they themselves. Easter Island is one of the most isolated points of the earth. |
